Childcare expenses
If you paid an Ofsted or Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) registered childcare provider to look after your children while you attended court, you can claim for the full cost of childcare.
Most providers caring for children under 8 years old for more than 2 hours a day must register with Ofsted in England or CIW in Wales.
Registered childcare providers will usually put their unique reference number (URN) on their invoice.
You can also check if your childcare is registered on the Ofsted or CIW websites.
If not, for example leaving children with a family member, you can claim up to £67 per day.
You need to provide receipts.
If you normally pay for childcare while you are at work, you cannot claim both loss of earnings and childcare at the same time.
